Do I Really Have to Weigh That? (Probably)

People ask me all the time whether I get sick of weighing my food. Not at all. Success is never something I get tired of. Then they ask whether I weigh my fruits and veggies. When I am trying to get over a fat loss hump, you better believe it. Why? Click and learn my friends. Click and learn.

Get out there and get healthy. Weigh your dang portions!

Amen! Great examples - this is why I don't understand the new Weight Watchers points system that allows (if I'm correct) unlimited fruits & veggies?! There a size issue, and there's a calorie density issue - a banana "costs" more than a bell pepper. And what about an avocado? Yeesh.

Agreed. If you're trying to lose weight, every calorie counts, even those in broccoli. Our bodies are science projects in perpetual motion, and all they know how to do with calories is process them. Even the ones we didn't mean to eat. Even the ones no one saw us eat. Even the ones that were healthy. They all count!

Sarah - I believe that WW is trying to encourage people to make better choices. So not skipping an apple to save points for chocolate. I was told that if I am eating unlimited fruits and veggies and not losing weight then I may need to cut back on my fruits and veggies . But let's face it - I doubt eating too many apples is what has caused me to gain weight.

lol, good point! Agreed, I'd only resort to weighing if I was trying to lose or maintain my weight and something was obviously wrong. I've done it before and been amazed at how many more calories I was taking in than I thought. But, my weight gain has had more to do with too much wine and pizza than with too many apples. :)

I am currently on Weight Watchers and loving the flexibility it offers to me. As a busy working mom of two soccer players, I do not have time to measure, weigh or eat "special" foods. WW gives me the flexibility to eat what my family is eating and to participate in life with them. I am currently down 39 pounds and only 4 pounds to my goal.

Congratulations! That is wonderful; what's best is that you have found something that works for you. As long as it is something you can do consistently and long term, it will bring you success and happiness. All the best to you!
